Your personal family Traditions for Christmas

Christmas time is coming and David and I decided to stay here in TX to have our own Christmas. To tell you the truth, I have no idea what to do. The tradition that I'm use to is started Christmas Eve with my moms side of the family. We get together to read the out of the Bible about Jesus birth. We all take turns reading. Then someone reads "The Night Before Christmas". Christmas morning my family (mom, dad,Ryan, Liz, us, and the kids) open our gifts at home and then move over to a family members home to have breakfast there and to spend time with each other. We also have a get together with David's side of the family too. I have loved this time with family and seeing everyone. This year we need to do our own thing, so I ask for some advise from you. What do you do if you do not have extended family around and have your own Christmas? I think we will still read out of the Bible and read "The Night Before Christmas".

I'm blessed to have my mom and dad to come for Thanksgiving. They will be leaving to come here on the 22nd. We will be having our own Christmas together on the 25th of November and celebrating my bday. We plan to leave to see my aunt and uncle in Llano on Wed. The kids are exited to have their grandparents coming. I think they like them.
Well, please let me know what I could do to make the Christmas day a little more memorable.
Thanks!!

I have often considered the same thing when it comes to creating your own traditions. I always thought that crafts with the kids would be fun. Martha Stewart has lots of ideas on her website. Whether it be making gram cracker (gingerbread) houses, personal stockings or ornaments for the tree. I always thought that I enjoy the spirit of Christmas leading up to the day. I don't really enjoy gifts and shopping, but crafts are fun for me... Think of things you and the kids like to do, then Google Christmas ideas.. You'll be amazed at what is out there. Alan's family but together a new set of legos on Christmas morning and have a fun breakfast as part of their traditions...
